How the Game Works
The Ultimate Goalie Showdown reinvents hockey as a family-friendly, interactive show. Four mixed teams made up of NHL alumni, influencers, and even fans who entered to play face off in three fast-paced periods, each just 25 minutes with a running clock. Every penalty is decided by the spin of the “Wheel of Shame,” forcing players into hilarious challenges like skating backwards, using a mini stick, playing with the wrong hand, or even singing karaoke on the ice. Fans aren’t just spectators, they scan a QR code to donate to charity and chirp players live on the mic. Between games, stunts like Ibex Dan's human slingshot and skill showcases from creators and pro's keep the energy high, making UGS a nonstop entertainment experience for both kids and adults.
A New Kind of Hockey Show
Unlike traditional games, UGS games are designed for fast-paced excitement with built-in variety and comedy. The roster is mixed, an NHL pro, an influencer, and even a 15-year-old fan could all end up on the same team, making every shift unpredictable and every game unique.

Beyond the ice, UGS is dedicated to making an impact. This year’s event supports The Last Save, a 501(c)(3) organization focused on mental health and substance abuse awareness. Additional partnerships include the Cancer Kindness Network.
